Virals: Liverpool face further competition for Karim Adeyemi capture

Liverpool reportedly remain in the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi but are facing growing competition.

The Reds have been among the leading protagonists from the outset and have since been joined by Inter Milan, RB Leipzig and Sevilla.

Adeyemi has also attracted interest from German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

According to a report from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, as cited by Liverpool FC News on Twitter, Liverpool are among the contenders.

The report claims that there is ‘great interest’ in the three-times capped 19-year-old with clubs hoping for a January transfer.

Born in Munich, Adeyemi started out in Bavaria before heading to Austria where he has since scored 25 goals in 72 appearances for Salzburg.

This season the versatile forward has netted 15 times and added two assists in 22 outings across all competitions.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2024 (Transfermarkt), it will reportedly cost around £30m to sign Adeyemi.

Capable of playing across the frontline, the teenager would provide an ideal solution to an imminent dilemma for Jurgen Klopp as Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah jet off to the African Cup of Nations.
