Virals: Liverpool reportedly set Mohamed Salah price tag

Liverpool have perhaps discovered the worth of Mohamed Salah this season more than any that has gone before.

Despite struggles elsewhere within Jurgen Klopp’s squad, the Egyptian forward has maintained a constant performer throughout what has been a difficult campaign.

As those around him fail to reach their consistent heights of previous seasons, the 28-year-old netted his 30th goal in all competitions on Thursday to take him level on 21 strikes in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Often tentatively linked with a move away from Anfield, a fresh report from ESPN, as cited by The Anfield Buzz on Twitter, has claimed Liverpool would consider offers in excess of €80m (£69m).

It’s due to the failings elsewhere that Klopp could delve into the transfer market to bolster his attacking options this summer.

However, with finances tight the Reds may be forced to sell a star name were they to pursue a big arrival such as Jadon Sancho or Kylian Mbappe.

No chance.

Salah’s importance to Liverpool has been highlighted this term and in truth, Klopp would value his worth to the side at over double the mooted minimum price tag.

Valued at £99m (Transfermarkt), the 69-cap Egyptian would fetch offers beyond the £100m barrier in a normal market and given the frugality amongst the Anfield hierarchy and Michael Edwards’ knack of getting the best deal – there is no way Liverpool would accept a cut-price deal.
