Liverpool interested in signing Harry Magurie
Liverpool are interested in signing Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire, according to reports.
The 25-year-old enjoyed the best season of his career with The Foxes last year and his impressive performances resulted in him becoming a starter for England at the World Cup.
Leicester paid an initial £12m fee to Hull City for Maguire, with stipulated clauses which could see that amount rise to £17m, which looks like a bargain after just one campaign at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester will have no interest in selling such an important player unless Liverpool make them an offer that’s too good to turn down, so even if the Reds are interested in Maguire, their chances of getting him seem very remote.
With fitness concerns over both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, it makes sense for the Reds to be in the market for a new centre-back and whilst the idea of partnering Maguire with Virgil van Dijk is intriguing, Liverpool are likely to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements this summer.
