Vardy ruled out of Liverpool’s meeting with Leicester
Liverpool have already had an early boost ahead of their meeting with Leicester City at the beginning of September with the news that Jamie Vardy will miss the game.
Leicester Mercury’s James Sharpe has confirmed that the striker has been suspended for three matches after being sent off against Wolves over the weekend.
Vardy will now miss Leicester’s games with Southampton, Fleetwood Town and Liverpool.
The Reds are scheduled to play Leicester in their first game of September at the King Power.
The striker, who is arguably Leicester’s most dangerous outlet, saw red against the Premier League new boys after a high challenge on Wolves’ Matt Doherty.
The tackle drew comparisons to Phil Jagielka’s red card, which also came against Wolves.
Jagielka went in late on Wolves striker Diogo Jota in their first game of the new Premier League season and was subsequently sent off.
Vardy’s ban will come as a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp, who will be looking for a positive result away from home.
