Liverpool were linked with a move for Wolves star Ruben Neves in the summer but they never made any official bid for him and now it has been revealed that it will cost a huge amount of money to take him from the newly promoted side.

As reported in The Times, Wolves value Neves “in excess of Paul Pogba’s Premier League record transfer fee” and the only way they’d consider selling him is if they received bids of around £110m.

Neves has made a good start to his first season in the Premier League after dominating the Championship last year it is no surprise that other clubs are interested in signing him.

Liverpool’s midfield options look plentiful at the moment but the Reds have shown a willingness to make major additions in recent transfer windows and, backed by the club’s owners FSG, manager Jurgen Klopp has not been afraid to spend big amounts.

In truth, it sounds like Wolves are putting such a huge price tag on Neves’ head in order to scare off any interested parties but it’ll be interesting to see where his future lies.
