Former Liverpool defender Stephen Darby has met with officials from Bradford City to discuss a special testimonial game.
Darby, who was at Liverpool from youth level up until 2008, was forced to retire from football back in September after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
The 30-year-old, who captained Bradford during his spell at Valley Parade, will have a game played in his honour with the money raised going to charities and causes to help raise awareness of motor neurone disease as well as helping to advance treatments and aid efforts to find a cure for the disease.

Bradford Chairman Edin Rahic said:
Stephen met with me and Julian (Rhodes) earlier today and we are now looking at what the club can do to help raise greater awareness of the disease.
We are planning to stage a testimonial match. It would be a fantastic occasion, allowing everyone who knows and is connected to Stephen to come out and support him while raising funds for a brilliant cause.
Stephen Darby will always be a massive part of this football club and we are delighted to be moving forward with some firm plans, which will be revealed in more detail in the coming weeks and months.
The game, which will likely be played early next year, could feature some of Darby’s former Liverpool teammates.
