Contrary to stories published over the weekend, Liverpool have no plans to give Andy Robertson a new contract, but that does not mean that they’re unhappy with the left-back.
As reported by James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool wanted to make it clear that they have not offered the Scottish star a new deal, nor are they in talks about a potential new contract.

Liverpool officials wanted to get this information into the public domain because they were conscious that it would be hugely unfair on Robertson to let people believe that there is a new contract for him on the table as when no announcement about a new deal came, fans might think that the Scottish star was stalling on signing, when there was actually nothing to sign in the first place.
Pearce reports that Robertson’s contract with the Reds contains a number of incentives so he’s already been rewarded for his excellent performances by hitting those targets.
The left-back still has three-and-a-half years left on his Liverpool contract so there is no rush for him to agree terms on a new deal just yet.
