Ray Clemence has responded to a Twitter message from Alisson, following news that the former is struggling with illness.
News emerged on Thursday that Clemence is unwell at present, as confirmed by commentator Clive Tyldesley on Twitter.
Alisson was quick to message his fellow Liverpool goalkeeping legend, offering his support to the 72-year-old:

On Friday, Clemence sent a heartwarming response to the Brazilian, thanking him for his kind words:
Thanks for the message I really do appreciate it. The support of GK Union is always special. Can I wish you and the team every success in the future. As you are realising it’s a special place to play. Ray

It was touching to see the pair get in touch with one another, showing the togetherness that exists at Liverpool Football Club.
Clemence is an undoubted all-time great at Anfield, making an incredible 665 appearances for the Reds between 1968 and 1981.
Not only that, he also won five league titles and three European Cups during his time at Anfield, not to mention one FA Cup and League Cup apiece.
We are sending Ray all of our very best wishes.
