Alisson and Roberto Firmino could miss Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Leicester City, after international teammate Gabriel Menino tested positive for the virus currently affecting the world.

The Reds duo are currently on Brazil duty, having both started last weekend’s 1-1 draw away to Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp will be sweating over the fitness of key men after Joe Gomez’s knee injury, but there is potential more bad news heading his way.

Menino has tested positive, according to Sport Witness journalist Lucas Sposito on Twitter, meaning Alisson and Firmino could have to self-isolate for 14 days.

If that is the case, it will mean they miss the visit of table-topping Leicester on November 21st, adding to Liverpool’s current woes.

It really does feel as though the Reds can’t catch a break at the moment, with so many things seemingly working against them.

Klopp has had to deal with endless injuries, with not only Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez out, but the likes of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Joel Matip, Thiago, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita all missing spells, too.

That’s without mentioning VAR, which has proven to be Liverpool’s enemy too often this season already.

The hope is that Alisson and Firmino don’t have to self-isolate, but if they do, it means Adrian coming back into the team for starters, which is unlikely to fill Liverpool supporters with glee.
