Diogo Jota has been hailed by Arsenal legend Ian Wright as his incredible start to life at Liverpool continues.
The Portuguese forward became the first-ever Reds player to score in his first four home top-flight games on Sunday, finding the net in the 3-0 win over Leicester City.
It has been a sensational first few months for Jota, who has scored eight goals in his first 12 appearances for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has been crying out for top quality backup to the front three and the 23-year-old provides exactly that, now pushing to start almost every game.
Speaking to Premier League Productions [via HITC], Wright heaped praise on the Liverpool star, hailing his all-round class:
It is a brilliant start. That’s all you want. To get eight goals in 12, it’s unbelievable. He’s just going to go to the next level, that’s what’s going to happen.
He plays like a winger, he can get back and defend, he can take people on. He can do everything. It’s an inspired signing.

The signing of Jota came completely out of the blue, but he has made a remarkable impact at Anfield. His pace, movement and end product have all drawn comparisons with Sadio Mane, and he is another top-class attacking player to strike fear into Liverpool’s opponents.
On current form, it is impossible to omit Jota from the team, leaving Klopp with a nice selection headache between now and the end of the season. At 23, he has many years ahead of him to mature further, showing what an exciting player he is moving forward.
