Neville posts hilarious message to Carragher after major announcement

Gary Neville has sent a brilliant message to Jamie Carragher on Twitter, as their hilarious complex relationship continues.

The pair used to go up against each other regularly when Liverpool faced Manchester United, even coming to blows at times.

Since those days, their relationship has changed, however, with Neville and Carragher both excelling as pundits on Sky Sports.

Their constant back-and-forth with one another makes for great viewing and there does now appear to be a closeness between them.

On Thursday, it was announced that Manchester would be in tier 3 in the post-lockdown period, while Liverpool is in tier 2.

Taking to Twitter, Neville bemoaned the situation, reaching out to Carragher in the process:

Back in the 2000s, the idea of Carragher and Neville getting along seemed unfathomable, but it has since shown that they were simply dedicated professionals who both loathed the other player’s team.

The duo are fantastic on Sky Sports, proving to be two of the most insightful pundits in the modern game.

Neville’s message sums up the lighthearted relationship Carragher and Neville now have, perhaps even suggesting that the latter genuinely wants a pint with the former!
