Forgotten Roberto Firmino moment against Brighton sums up his brilliance

A brilliant moment involving Roberto Firmino against Brighton has been unearthed, summing up the natural talent at his disposal.

The Reds could only draw 1-1 away to the Seagulls on Saturday afternoon, following Pascal Gross’ late equaliser from the penalty spot.

Firmino was again a relatively quiet figure at the Amex Stadium, but a couple of impressive pieces of play stood out.

The Brazilian was unfortunate not to register a wonderful assist, with Mohamed Salah’s goal ruled out for offside, and he also produced one superb touch in the second half.

The latter moment was picked out by Empire of the Kop, with Firmino taking Alisson’s long pass down on his head, before silkily laying the ball off to Takumi Minamino.

Firmino may have been a long way from his best so far this season, but he is still glorious player to watch, as highlighted by that moment of class.

He always seems to have so much time on the ball, and his creativity and intelligence are arguably on a par with anyone in Liverpool’s squad.

Firmino is not delivering enough overall currently, though, which has to change ahead of a busy festive period.

Too many matches are passing him by and he isn’t stepping up as much as Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
