A number of Liverpool supporters have been left shocked by Troy Deeney’s thoughts on head injuries.
The Watford striker has been the scourge of the Reds in the past, helping end their unbeaten record in the Premier League last season, following the Hornets’ 3-0 win at Vicarage Road.
Deeney is known for being an outspoken figure rather than just a footballer, however, sometimes proving entertaining but also risking crossing the lines on occasions.
It seems as though he has fallen into the latter category with his latest remarks on head injuries, telling talkSPORT that a player knows when or not they should leave the pitch, essentially ignoring medical experts instead.

This comes after Wolves striker Raul Jimenez suffered a horrible injury in his side’s 2-1 win away to Arsenal on Sunday night, following a collision with David Luiz.
The Arsenal centre-back stayed on the pitch until half-time, leaving many aghast, but Deeney seemingly agrees with the decision not to take the Brazilian off straight away.
These Liverpool fans have been reacting to his comments on Twitter.

No, no, no, NO! This is bad. Very bad. Footballers typically want to play on. They are not medical experts. So far from it. It's not about taking stuff away from them, it's about protecting them now and in the long-term.
This is so irresponsible https://t.co/0eHivlUesT

Can shows like these stop interviewing people like Deeney who shouldn't be answering these questions??

It isnt surprising though is it, Troy Deeney doesn't have much going on between the ears.

How can he give such a reckless opinion on players health and safety after the stance he took on COVID?
Would appear to show that his motive all along was seeing Watford avoid relegation by any possible means, rather than caring for the health and safety of the players
