Wolves provide positive update on Jimenez ahead of Liverpool clash

Wolves have provided a positive update on Raul Jimenez, ahead of their trip to Liverpool this weekend.

The Mexican suffered a horrific head injury against Arsenal on Sunday night, following an aerial clash with David Luiz.

Play was stopped for a significant amount of time and Jimenez was taken to hospital, leading to concerns surrounding his well-being.

On Monday, Wolves confirmed that the £36million-rated striker was ‘comfortable’ after having an operation, which is welcome news.

It does throw Jimenez’s involvement in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool into huge doubt, however, with the Telegraph claiming on Twitter that he could be out for months.

It was a horrible moment that no football fans wants to see, and it was nice to Wolves perform so well without Jimenez, winning 2-1 and doing him proud.

The 29-year-old is an exceptional player, so it is a huge blow for Nuno Espirito Santo if he is out of the trip to Anfield.

That being said, Wolves still have an abundance of attacking talent, whether it be Adama Traore, Pedro Neto or Daniel Podence.

Liverpool will need to be at their best against them, or risk their long unbeaten home league run going up in smoke.
