Liverpool and Manchester City have both been linked with a move for FC Twente sporting director Jan Streuer, as he continues to impress at the Dutch club.
That’s according to journalist Leon ten Voorde, who sees the Premier League heavyweights as potential future destinations for the 69-year-old.
Streuer only joined Twente in the summer, but has already shone in his recruitment of players, bringing in the likes of Dario Dumic, Tyronne Ebuehi and Danilo.
Speaking to Tubantia [via Sport Witness], Ten Voorde claimed he could see Streuer ending up at Liverpool or City eventually:
We have often mentioned that in this place, but football is often a coincidence. Jan Streuer was an emergency bandage.
Sometimes you have to be lucky, and this has worked out well, although we also have something to say about FC Twente’s purchasing policy.
Of course, it is not possible, but not all players are successful numbers. Many of the newcomers also do not play
Streuer said in de Volkskrant that four of the five must be hits. If Jan achieves that average, Manchester City and Liverpool will soon be on his doorstep.

It is always good to see Liverpool linked with highly-rated figures, whether that be players or those behind the scenes.
Streuer is clearly earning rave reviews, so he looks as though he could be a shrewd appointment moving forward.
Much would depend on whether or not Jurgen Klopp feels he is needed, however, with the German seemingly happy with his current options.
