A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a hugely touching moment involving Gini Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk against Wolves.
Jurgen Klopp’s champions produced a sensational performance on Sunday evening, thrashing Wolves 4-0 at Anfield.
It was statement of intent from the Reds, who still look like the team to beat in the Premier League this season.
On a night when so many Liverpool players caught the eye, Wijnaldum was arguably as good as anyone.
The 30-year-old was a bundle of energy in the middle of the park, but he also found the net in style.
Wijnaldum curled home a brilliant effort in front of the Kop, before wheeling away in celebration. In what was a lovely moment, the Dutchman copied Van Dijk’s celebration, with the centre-back watching on from the dugout.
Images have since emerged of Van Dijk grinning like a Cheshire chat, clearly delighted at what he was seeing.
