Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Liverpool will still win the Premier League title this season, even without Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds are currently joint-top of the table with Tottenham, but it doesn’t look like they will cruise to glory this time around.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been ravaged by injuries, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez the most noticeable absentees, and could be for the whole season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, former United man Neville claimed Liverpool will still be crowned champions next May, even though it would be far easier with Van Dijk in the team:
I’ve said before that I think Liverpool win this league at a canter if Virgil van Dijk was fit, no one can get near them.
I still think they win this league, but there are just some little things that are going against them that have not gone against them in the last couple of years.

Neville no doubt made his prediction through gritted teeth, but it is an honest assessment from him.
Liverpool have done superbly with so many key men out injured this season – it is sometimes easy to forget that even Thiago has only played 135 minutes for the Reds to date – and rivals could be concerned that they are still joint-top.
The recent home wins over Leicester City and Wolves have outlined the champions’ status as the best team in the country and another win at Fulham this weekend would be another step in the right direction.
I agree with Neville that Liverpool would easily win the league with Van Dijk fit, but they are making an excellent fist of it without him.
