Harry Kane is the only Tottenham player who would get into Liverpool’s team currently, according to Reds legend Graeme Souness.
The England captain has been in sensational form so far this season, already scoring nine goals and registering 10 assists in the Premier League.
Spurs head to Anfield on Wednesday night for a top-of-the-table clash, in what could end up proving to be a pivotal game in the title race.
Writing for the Times, Souness admitted only Kane is good enough to break into the Reds’ side at the moment:
Liverpool are the real deal in every department and Spurs are still a long way off that.
The only Spurs player who would get in Liverpool’s line-up is Kane, because Sadio Mane can do everything Son can, and will also go to war with you.
I don’t see Liverpool getting mugged as easily as Arsenal did, though there is more chance of it happening without Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho, their best defensive midfielder, in the back four.

It is hard to argue with Souness’ comments too much, with Kane a shoo-in, considering his form this season, as well as Roberto Firmino’s struggles.
Son Heung-min is also undoubtedly close to getting in, but as the former Liverpool skipper alludes to, Mane is just that little bit better overall – arguably the best left-sided player in the club’s history.
Wednesday’s game promises to be a nervy encounter, with Spurs full of confidence at the moment, and Jose Mourinho having the bit between his teeth.
The Portuguese would love nothing more than to end Liverpool’s long unbeaten home run in the league – if Liverpool go 1-0 down, it could be a long evening.
