Liverpool fans mock Tim Sherwood after comment backfires during Spurs game

A number of Liverpool fans have been revelling in Tim Sherwood’s misery, after his punditry hilariously backfired on Wednesday night.

The Reds beat Tottenham 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League clash at Anfield, taking them top of the table.

Mohamed Salah’s goal was cancelled out by Son Heung-min’s strike and the stage was set for Roberto Firmino to be the match-winner.

The Brazilian powered home a header in the 90th minute to earn Liverpool a well-deserved win, before racing to the Kop to celebrate in front of the 2,000 Reds supporters.

It was an iconic late Anfield winner, and at the same time, Sherwood was producing an equally memorable moment of punditry.

The former Spurs man was on duty for Amazon Prime, and as Andy Robertson was about to deliver the corner Firmino scored from, he was speaking about the visitors’ aerial dominance from set-pieces, and how they wouldn’t concede.

Firmino then swiftly buried the header, leaving Sherwood red-faced, following a hilarious bit of bad timing.

These Liverpool fans reacted to the clip on Twitter.
