Joe Gomez is ‘training away from Liverpool’ at the moment, as he continues to recover from a long-term injury.
That’s according to Paul Joyce of the Times, who states that the 23-year-old has ‘not gone abroad’ like Virgil van Dijk, with the Dutchman currently in Dubai working on his own comeback.
Gomez hasn’t played since suffering a serious knee injury during an England training session back in early November, leaving Liverpool with a centre-back crisis.

The Reds have battled on bravely without Gomez and Van Dijk around – Joel Matip has also been in and out of the side – but they are still missing their first-choice defensive duo hugely.
While much of the focus has understandably been on the colossal Van Dijk, Gomez’s speed and quality on the ball have also been a major loss.
Without him around, Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been able to play such a high line, due to a lack of speed in players like Matip, Fabinho, Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips.
Gomez’s ability to spray long passes and break the lines – he had an 89.7 percent pass completion rate in the Premier League this season before injury struck – has also been sorely missed, catching out opponents before they are organised.
