Some Liverpool fans have been laying into Anthony Martial after a terrible dive for Manchester United, claiming Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane would have been torn to shreds for similar behaviour.
The Reds’ bitter rivals were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Manchester City on Wednesday night, following a 2-0 win at Old Trafford.
United rarely looked like progressing through the semi-final clash, and in the second half, things clearly started to get desperate.
Martial produced an embarrassing dive as he tried to burst through the City defence, with centre-back Ruben Dias particularly irked by his antics.
It was the latest example of a United player going to ground too easily in the box, with so much made of their constant winning of penalties recently, not least by Jurgen Klopp.
These Liverpool supporters were quick to lambast Martial’s dive on Twitter, also highlighting that Salah and Mane would be criticised endlessly if they did exactly the same.
