A number of Liverpool supporters are worried that Ozan Kabak has been compared to Dejan Lovren, in terms of his style of play.
The 20-year-old sealed a loan move to Anfield on Monday night, with an option for the Reds to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
Kabak may have been playing for a struggling Schalke team at the bottom of the Bundesliga, but he is a highly-rated centre-back with lots of potential.
His arrival is a huge positive, especially with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all expected to be out injured for the remainder of the campaign.
Not every Liverpool fan is an expert on Kabak, but comparisons have been drawn with former Reds defender Lovren, with former Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat telling The Athletic about their similarities:
I told Jurgen that he’s a top lad. Top mentality, top character, top aggression. He’s a [Dejan] Lovren-type player. Very good in the air, both defensively and in the opposition box.
The Croatian was a divisive figure during his time on Merseyside, often jumping between being excellent and woeful.
These Liverpool supporters have reacted to the comparison on Twitter, revealing their concern.
Someone just said something about Kabak being a Turkish Lovren. I AM SICK 😭

Kabak has loads of potential and a monster in the air. Bit rash like Lovren was & certainly has to improve his decision making but he’s young & at the best place to improve his game. Hope it works out for him & us!

Watched Kabak a few times this season and gave me serious Lovren vibes. Looked decent but prone to diving into silly tackles.

Praying that Kabak doesn't end up as a Turkish Lovren.

I just need Kabak not to be Lovren mark 2 and I’ll be happy.
