Liverpool should sign £36m-rated Swedish starlet this summer as ‘Roberto Firmino replacement’ claims report

This summer will provide a fantastic opportunity for many clubs across Europe to scout the top stars.

With Euro 2020 finally underway, the Reds are one of many clubs keeping tabs on the best young talent.

It had already been reported that Liverpool were already set to scout a trio of young talent at Euro 2020.

Ukraine’s Ilya Zabarnyi, Netherlands’ Teun Koopmeiners, and Belgium’s Jeremy Doku are all on Liverpool’s radar.

However, it appears as though there is another young star that the club should be watching out for.

According to the Liverpool Echo, there may just be the perfect Roberto Firmino replacement at the tournament.

The newspaper reports that Sweden’s 21-year-old striker Alexander Isak would be the ideal successor for the Brazilian.

Isak has been impressing for La Liga side Real Sociedad over the last two years, enjoying a flourish of goals last campaign.

The youngster managed 17 goals from 34 league appearances last term, helping Sociedad to a fifth place finish.

A product of Swedish giants AIK’s youth academy, Isak was picked up by Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

However, the then 17-year-old failed to adjust, leaving the club just two years later.

It is easy to forget how young Isak is given his build and time spent at the top game already.

Liverpool are likely to try and sign another forward this summer, with Divock Origi set to leave the club.

RB Salzburg’s Patson Daka is being heavily linked with Jurgen Klopp’s side in a deal for just £17million.

With a market value of £36million, the striker could cost a significant amount more depending on his performances this summer.

Despite this, there is no denying he is a talented young player, and it is easy to see why people want him at Liverpool.
