Liverpool ‘leading the way’ to sign Renato Sanches this summer according to reports

The transfer window is in full flow, with Liverpool already heavily involved in the rumour mill.

After Georginio WIjnaldum’s departure, a huge hole has been left in the club’s midfield given his importance.

The Dutchman had become a key component of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI over the years, with that spot now open.

Despite the club still attaining plenty of talent in midfield, Wijnaldum’s role and ability was truly unique.

This has led to a number of possible replacements being linked with the club, such as Youri Tielemans and Pedri to name a few.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Liverpool are leading the race to sign Lille and Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches this summer…

As cited by The Anfield Buzz above, it appears as though the Reds are in pole position for the midfielder.

The 23-year-old had a fantastic tournament with Portugal at Euro 2020 despite crashing out in the Round of 16.

Now, it seems as though Liverpool are very keen on bringing Sanches to Anfield this summer.

The midfielder has a current market value of £27million which is surprising given his age and potential.

It has also been reported that the youngster could be available for as little as €30-35million.

At such a price, Sanches would be a fantastic signing and could flourish under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Last season was the best of his career, with himself and Lille winning Ligue 1 after a 10-year hiatus.

Sanches would be a perfect replacement for Wijnaldum, so hopefully the club can secure a deal with the French club.
