Liverpool ultimately had a quiet summer transfer window despite a number of players linked to the club.

Only one new addition was made in the form of Ibrahima Konaté, despite the need for a new attacker.

The club have decided to hold out on their current options, with things starting well in the league.

Despite the lack of additions, this hasn’t stopped pundits from urging Liverpool to dip their hands in their pockets.

Most recently, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has had his say on his Vibe with Five show.

The now BT Sport pundit feels Liverpool should resign Raheem Sterling, stating if he was the Reds he’d “buy Sterling tomorrow”…

The England winger is currently out of favour at Manchester City after a lack of game time recently.

Ferdinand clearly feels that Sterling still has plenty to offer and should consider a move away.

With a current market value of £81million, a move for Sterling certainly wouldn’t come cheap, especially in today’s market.

The Reds sold Sterling as a 20-year-old back in 2015 to City for just over £50million at the time.

There is no denying that the winger is a very talented player and still has plenty to offer at just 26-years-old.

However, a move back to Anfield is unlikely, whether Ferdinand feels it is the right move or not.
