Virals: Liverpool ‘have their eyes’ on Red Bull Salzburg ace Karim Adeyemi

Liverpool are believed to ‘have their eyes’ on Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi

The Reds have been credited with an interest in the 19-year-old for some time but look to face serious competition from German giants Bayern Munich.

Regularly named among the main protagonists to sign the exciting teenager, the Anfield club would appear to face a battle to thwart a Bavarian reunion for the Munich-born starlet.

According to German newspaper Kurier (via Sport Witness) and as cited by ThinkLFCTV on Twitter, Liverpool are in the hunt for the teenager.

The report claims ‘only a matter of time’ before the three-times capped Germany ace leaves Salzburg as clubs are ‘lining up’ to get a deal done.

This season Adeyemi has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.

Signing Adeyemi should be right at the top of the list of priorities at Anfield.

Extremely talented and supremely versatile, the German has been a revelation in Austria and in the UEFA Champions League this term.

With all three of the famed attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah heading towards 30 and beyond, Jurgen Klopp must start considering the need to freshen up the attacking options at his disposal despite continued success.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2024 (Transfermarkt), landing the skilful attacker for the mooted €30-40million (£25-33million) fee would remain a shrewd move.

matchday.
