Liverpool have reportedly ‘enquired’ over the possibility of signing Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter.
The 27-year-old has been widely linked with a move to Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter Milan in recent months with the Serie A side seemingly leading the way.
However, the Reds have made a late attempt to land the experienced World Cup-winning German international.
That’s according to a report from FC Inter News, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter.

The report claims that Liverpool have made their interest in the 46-cap star known but are yet to follow up an initial enquiry.
So far this season Ginter has made 17 appearances across all competitions – earning a 6.97 Sofascore rating in the Bundesliga.

Valued at £21.6million and out of contract in Germany at the end of the season (Transfermarkt), signing the former Borussia Dortmund man for free would be a superb coup.
Strong in the air and with impressive passing range, Ginter certainly possesses plenty of likeable attributes that would endear Jurgen Klopp to the capture.
However, with Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Nat Phillips already in situ, at least one centre-back would need to be sold before another could arrive.
