Virals: Liverpool target Jonathan David ‘wants to leave’ Lille this summer
Liverpool target Jonathan David reportedly ‘wants to leave’ Lille during the summer transfer market.
The 22-year-old forward has previously been heavily linked with the Reds as well as Arsenal.
Already a star on the international stage with Canada, David would appear to be ready to take the next step in a promising career.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter, the talented striker is preparing for a switch.
Update Jonathan #David: The 22 y/o striker wants to leave Lille in summer. No release clause. Sources expect a price tag around €45-55m. His new club should play Champions League next season. No contact with #NUFC so far. Too expensive for the Bundesliga. @SkySportNews 🇨🇦

The 27-cap Canada ace has scored 16 times in 35 appearances this season and could be the next attacking signing at Anfield following the arrival of Luis Diaz in January.
This comes as a separate report from CaughtOffside claims that the Reds are looking to further bolster their forward options and could pay as much as £75million for West Ham star Jarrod Bowen.

Valued at £45million and under contract in France until 2025 (Transfermarkt), signing David would be an expensive venture.
Hailed as a ‘phenomenon’ by Hein Vanhaezebrouck, the Canadian would certainly be a superb addition to Jurgen Klopp’s ranks.
Capable of playing in a variety of attacking positions and a strong finisher, at just 22 there is certainly plenty of benefits to pursuing the ace.
Meanwhile, Bowen is already proven in the Premier League but the mooted fee would perhaps be out of reach for Liverpool.
