Fabrizio Romano provides important late-night Liverpool transfer update

Liverpool need attacking reinforcements this summer and have already completed the signing of Victor Munoz.

However, it goes without saying that they need another player or two as they need to find ways to replace Mohamed Salah’s end product in the final third.

Bradley Barcola has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and continues to star for France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided another update on the PSG attacker’s future, with Arsenal also in the running to secure his signature.

Arsenal will influence Liverpool’s Bradley Barcola pursuit

Barcola played an important role for PSG as they won successive UEFA Champions League crowns and has also made a handful of defining contributions for France at the World Cup.

Arsenal are also interested in signing him, but the Gunners have Morgan Rogers as their primary target,

And Romano feels Arsenal’s deal for the England international will decide whether or not they make a move for Barcola, which obviously has implications for the Reds as well.

“Arsenal will try to understand if there is room for negotiation [on Morgan Rogers’ price tag],” said Romano on his YouTube channel.

“They also appreciate Bradley Barcola, but for Barcola, there is Liverpool as well, so it’s going to be an interesting summer for wingers.”

Earlier this month, Barcola admitted he could leave PSG this summer, putting Arsenal, Liverpool and other potential suitors on high alert.

Liverpool must break the bank for Barcola

Over the years, Liverpool have shown that they will spend top dollar on elite talent, as was the case with Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker under Jurgen Klopp.

Last summer, after Arne Slot won the Premier League, the Reds didn’t refrain from splashing around £300m on Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

Twelve months later, they find themselves in a similar position as Salah has left the club, while Federico Chiesa’s future is uncertain and Ekitike is no closer to returning from his Achilles injury.

Barcola is a bonafide superstar in the making and is set to command a huge transfer fee in excess of £100m.

That said, Liverpool need to break the bank and get his deal over the line if he’s willing to join, as players like him don’t become available every summer.

He is a key player for France and PSG, but the Parisians also have Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele in attack, while they are also in talks to sign Maghnes Akliouche and Yan Diomande.

It will be hard to fend off Arsenal’s interest, but Liverpool need to do everything they can to get Barcola snapped up as he could be a game-changer in attack under Andoni Iraola.
