Liverpool are touring the USA as they step up their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season.
While a handful of players are missing due to injuries and their commitments at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Amara Nallo’s exclusion came as a bit of a surprise.
The defender has made three appearances for the Reds so far but has been sent off in two of them.
And now, if reports from Finland are to be believed, he is close to joining Finnish side HJK.
Amara Nallo leaving Liverpool on loan
Liverpool have four fit senior central defenders in Virgil van Dijk, Jeremy Jacquet, Giovanni Leoni and Joe Gomez, while a handful of other youngsters have been signed in recent months to potentially step up to the team.
Nallo has been pushed down the pecking order and to be quite honest, he needs a bit of a reset after enduring a harsh start to life as a senior pro at Liverpool.
Eetu Ikola, the Finnish journalist in question, has confirmed that the Liverpool youngster is moving to HJK on loan.
In fact, it has also been pointed out that he has officially been listed as a member of HJK’s squad ahead of the UEFA Conference League qualifier, which is a sign that the transfer is close to happening.
Nallo didn’t travel with the Liverpool squad for their USA tour and will likely complete his move this week, so expect some official communication from both clubs imminently.
