Ferran Torres is the most popular man in Spain now after scoring the winning goal for Luis de la Fuente’s side in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final vs Argentina.
He understandably remains the talk of the town after his priceless goal, but the knock-on effect it could have on his future will be worth keeping an eye on.
Torres has been linked with a move to Liverpool, while PSG are also keeping tabs on his situation if he decides to leave Barcelona.
And now, reliable transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has poured cold water over claims that he could end up at Liverpool.
Ferran Torres to Liverpool unlikely
Torres is no stranger to the Premier League, having enjoyed a successful stint with Manchester City under Pep Guardiola before moving to Barcelona.
Under Hansi Flick, he has featured regularly across the frontline but isn’t a guaranteed starter as the Catalans have a handful of other world-class options in attack.
Di Marzio feels the Spaniard is likely to move to PSG if he leaves Barcelona, which is undoubtedly a big transfer blow for Liverpool.
“I don’t think Liverpool can make an offer for Ferran Torres,” Di Marzio said via Wettfreunde.
“I think only Paris Saint-Germain is a possibility, because if he decides not to extend his contract with Barcelona.
“It’s because Luis Enrique wants him at Paris Saint-Germain, and the club is seen by both him and his advisors as the perfect career move. I believe only Paris Saint-Germain is in the running for him.”
Torres knows Enrique quite well and a move to PSG could be the perfect step for him. Liverpool’s interest is well-documented, but we can’t see it happening at this point in time.
