Liverpool’s biggest problem heading into the summer transfer window was to find a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
And with less than a month to go before the new season kicks off, that remains the case.
Andoni Iraola’s squad has been bolstered by the arrivals of Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet. But the Reds need more to compete next season, with the right wing role, in particular, emerging as a spot of bother.
And if reports from Italy are to be believed, they are willing to pay a sizeable fee to sign long-time Liverpool target Francisco Conceicao.
Liverpool willing to pay €50m for Francisco Conceicao
In terms of skill-set and profile, the Portuguese international looks like he could replace Salah on the right flank.
Earlier this year, however, Conceicao played down claims that he could leave Juventus, adding that he is already at a massive club.
And now, Tutto Sport, quoting sources from England, claim that Liverpool are willing to put €50m on the table to sign the Portuguese international.
Conceicao has already played for Ajax, Porto and Juventus in his young career so far and has earned praise from Portugal boss Roberto Martinez for his incredible work ethic and maturity.
“Francisco is an example of what it means to deserve to be in the team and be prepared to help the group as well,” said Martinez via Sports Mole in 2024.
“He has incredible maturity; he has a scent for danger inside the area and he showed it. For a coach, seeing him come off the bench and show what he showed is very important.”
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Bradley Barcola, with the Reds initiating contact with PSG and his representatives in recent weeks.
Perhaps Conceicao is their fallback option if they fail to land the French international, as we can’t see a scenario where they get both deals over the line between now and the end of the summer transfer window.
