‘Confirmed’ – Fabrizio Romano drops breaking news on Bradley Barcola to Liverpool

Liverpool are in the market for attacking reinforcements and are expected to ramp up their chase in the upcoming weeks.

Bradley Barcola has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with the French international earning rave reviews for his performances for PSG and the national team.

Other clubs are also in the race to sign him, making him one of the most coveted players on the planet currently.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has dropped a big update on Barcola’s future, which is good news for Liverpool and his other suitors.

Bradley Barcola will not renew PSG contract

Barcola has two years left on his current deal at PSG and has been locked in talks to sign an extension for a while now.

The 24-year-old is behind Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele in the pecking order at the Parc des Princes. And while that isn’t necessarily a stumbling block, Barcola would be a starter for arguably any other team on the planet.

Speculation surrounding his future has dominated the back pages, and now, Romano has confirmed that Barcola will not sign a new deal at PSG as he remains a top target for Liverpool.

The Italian journalist wrote on X: “BREAKING: Bradley Barcola will NOT sign a new deal at Paris Saint-Germain; the decision is confirmed.

“As always reported, he’s open to exploring a move this summer and will NOT sign a new contract. Liverpool have Barcola at the top of their list.”

This is clearly a big boost for Liverpool, but a lot could depend on other factors. Yan Diomande, who looked set for a move to PSG, appears to be headed towards a move to Real Madrid.

If that transfer happens, PSG may just look to keep Barcola for another year as they won’t want to lose a key player without signing a suitable replacement.

The likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Barcola, so Liverpool have their work cut out for them in the coming weeks.

And finally, as reported by Foot Mercato, Barcola prefers a move to Liverpool if he leaves PSG this summer, with initial talks between the clubs set to have already happened.

Fingers crossed the Reds get this one over the line.
