‘Difficult’ – Andoni Iraola confirms triple Liverpool injury blow ahead of LASK clash

Liverpool will look to return to winning ways when they take on LASK in the UEFA Champions League tomorrow.

After losing 3-0 to Manchester City at Anfield, the Reds will want to make amends in what promises to be an exciting away European tie.

LASK won’t be pushovers, but it goes without saying that Liverpool head into the game as overwhelming favourites.

And now, ahead of the game, Andoni Iraola has confirmed that the likes of Dom Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak are still a few days away from returning to action.

The trio missed Liverpool’s defeat vs Manchester City and will not be available to face LASK tomorrow.

When quizzed about them, Iraola admitted that he will take it day by day with them, adding that they are expected to be back to face Villarreal next week at the latest.

“They are not bad, but it’s difficult to tell right now [when they will be back]. We are taking it day to day,” said the Liverpool boss in his pre-match press conference.

“Really, the three of them, I don’t know if it’s going to be Brentford or Villarreal.”

Liverpool will miss them as the three of them are virtually indispensable for Iraola. However, not having them against LASK isn’t the end of the world as they still have enough firepower to get one over the Austrian side.
