It goes without saying that Conor Bradley is going through his toughest spell as a Liverpool player.
After Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure, the Irishman was expected to take over the reigns as the Reds’ first-choice right back.
And while that happened last season, he suffered an injury against Arsenal in January and hasn’t featured for the club since.
Liverpool could do well with Bradley back as he is undoubtedly the best right-back at the club currently.
However, Lewis Steele believes Andoni Iraola will err on the side of caution with him after such a lengthy absence.
Conor Bradley close to Liverpool return
Steele wrote in his column for the Daily Mail: “Conor Bradley is in the final stages of his recovery. He is back working on grass, which is an important step, and is hoping to join some sessions in the near future.
“But he will have to be eased back into the team slowly.”
Jeremi Frimpong hasn’t proved to be good enough to be a guaranteed starter and has also struggled with injuries.
Ronald Araujo is doing quite well, but with Bradley, the Reds can add another dimension to their attack as his combination of pace and athleticism could prove to be massively beneficial.
However, Liverpool have already waited for around ten months, so a bit more won’t hurt as long as the Irishman returns fully fit.
