Jeremy Jacquet has undoubtedly been one of the breakout stars of the 2026-27 Premier League season.
The Frenchman agreed a deal to sign for Liverpool in January but only arrived at the club in the summer, having spent the second half of the previous campaign at Rennes.
And he has taken to life in England like a duck to water, forging a fantastic central defensive partnership with Virgil van Dijk.
Jacquet also received a call-up to the France squad by Zinedine Zidane and continues his fine run of form for his country.
However, he didn’t feature in their last game of the international break due to a suspected injury.
Zidane initially allayed fears of a long-term injury, and now, the young defender has been spotted in training ahead of the game vs Manchester City.
Jeremy Jacquet set to be available for Liverpool vs Manchester City
Pictures emerged of Jacquet getting ready to start a training session at the AXA Training Centre, much to the relief of the Liverpool faithful.
And the Liverpool Echo have doubled down on those claims, confirming that the Frenchman was indeed with the rest of his teammates at the gym before going on to the pitch.
An excerpt from the article reads: “Jacquet suffered a minor hamstring issue on duty for France and played no part in Monday’s 4-1 win over Belgium, having previously impressed in back-to-back games for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
“But the £60m defender took part in the gym session earlier in the afternoon before heading out with the rest of his colleagues onto the pitches as normal.”
Andoni Iraola will speak to the media tomorrow, so expect the boss to clarify the situation, along with updates on Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo.
