During Monday Night Football a few days ago, Jamie Carragher chose his Premier League Team of the Season.
The ex-Liverpool defender made some great choices in his XI.
The likes of Vladimir Coufal, Emiliano Martinez, and N’Golo Kante made their way into Carragher’s side.
However, there was one Liverpool player that appeared to be overlooked.
Despite scoring 20 Premier League goals so far this season, Mohamed Salah was left out.
Carragher quickly got some tough response from Reds fans on Twitter, but he was quick to justify his reasoning…
As you can see, Carragher opted for Heung-min Son instead of Mohamed Salah on the right.
His reasoning was due to Son’s higher goals and assists (G/A), as well as lower minutes per G/A.
It is understandable why Carragher would opt for Son as he has had a fantastic season.
However, it doesn’t seem right for Salah to not be included in the team of the season given his individual performances.
Liverpool have been poor but Salah has continued to score and shine throughout.
Maybe Carragher felt opting for Salah would ignite some criticism of bias, not that Neville was afraid of that with United.
The former Manchester United man selected four United players in his XI including Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire.
Both made some interesting choices in their XI’s, but Salah’s snub is a big shame.
