- Curtis Jones is considering leaving Liverpool this summer
- At least two Premier League clubs are interested in him
- He may also have an option in the Serie A
Curtis Jones is eyeing a move away from Liverpool as he enters the final year of his contract at Anfield this summer.
Since the foundation of the Premier League in 1992, football in England has truly gone global, with the best of best players from around the world flocking to country for a bumper contract.
However, there is a certain joy you get from seeing a local lad putting his heart and soul into the club.
While Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher were the flag-bearers in earlier years, Trent Alexander-Arnold went on to become the scouse heartbeat after his rise to the top.
However, that was only until he broke the Liverpudlian hearts by moving to Real Madrid on a free transfer last year.
With ones currently standing as the only local representatives in Arne Slot’s first-team squad, Liverpool faces the growing possibility that even this remaining Scouse connection could soon diminish.
Jones considering Liverpool exit, Tottenham in pursuit
The midfielder is giving ‘serious’ thought to putting an end to his 16-year-long stint at the Merseyside-based club, according to Alex Crook.
The journalist reported on talkSPORT (22 April) that Jones has grown frustrated with his playing time and status in the team.
Despite delivering impressive performances across both right-back and central midfield, he has been restricted to just 13 league starts this term a surprising statistic given the inconsistent form of Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch.
The 25-year-old was the subject of interest from Inter Milan in the January transfer window, and could potentially move to the Serie A.
He could also stay in the Premier League, as Aston Villa are said to have added him to their transfer wishlist ahead of the summer.
Tottenham is also tipped to be in the mix if they manage to avoid relegation this season.

As for Liverpool, they may have to cash in on Jones this summer if they do not want to lose him on a free transfer next year.
The England international could possibly be one of the “good players” Slot hinted at being moved on.
However, letting Jones go, especially to a Premier League rival, would be a huge mistake by the Reds.
At 25, he has already shown that he is capable of starring for Liverpool, while also having his best years ahead of him.
Moreover, the Anfield outfit are in need of scouse blood more than ever, considering the lack of it and the team’s own struggles.
With Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson departing, the club are crying out for leaders, and Jones is capable of being one.
