Liverpool have appointed Julian Ward as their new sporting director after Richard Hughes took over the reigns at Al-Hilal.
The Reds have been active in recent transfer windows and that trend is likely to continue as they have a few gaping holes to fill in their squad.
Liverpool could do well with another quality midfielder or two. In fact, it came as a bit of a surprise that they failed to address that issue in the summer transfer window, although a handful of players were linked.
Alex Scott has keen admirers at Anfield and recently made his debut for England.
And now, David Ornstein has confirmed that he will be out for around two months after picking up an injury during the international break.
Liverpool target Alex Scott suffers injury
He wrote on X: “Alex Scott out of England squad & returning to Bournemouth through injury. 23yo shone on 1st ENG start but now sidelined by quadriceps issue; checks ongoing amid fears of 2mnth absence. Blow to midfielder + AFCB with Kroupi also missing.”
Scott has been heavily linked with Liverpool and Chelsea. With his contract running out in 2027, the possibility of his sale in January hasn’t yet been ruled out.
However, his latest injury could change a thing or two, so we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out between now and the turn of the year.
