Liverpool supporters have been mocking Raheem Sterling’s latest remarks, following his bold prediction about next season.
The former Reds man was part of a Manchester City side that lost a seventh Premier League game of the campaign on Sunday, after a 1-0 defeat away to rivals Manchester United.
It means the reigning champions are 25 points behind Liverpool, in what has been a surprisingly meek defence of their crown.
Sterling’s form has tailed off after a good start to the season, but that hasn’t stopped him from having plenty to say about his former club.
The 25-year-old has been outspoken about Liverpool in the past and he was again over the weekend in an interview with Sky Sports, sending a warning to the Reds about next season:
We won the league twice in a row. Liverpool are winning, leading at this point in time.
But I’m pretty sure that come the end of the season our boys will go away and come back again very hurt if they do pick up the league, and we will be up and running for next season for sure.
[It will be] a massive reaction.
These Liverpool fans have provided their reaction to Sterling’s remarks, joking that City might not even be in the Premier League at that point and the forward could have moved elsewhere.
