Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has claimed Kingsley Coman could be Liverpool’s perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian decides to leave Anfield next year.
There has been speculation over Salah’s future with the Premier League champions, after the winger refused to rule out a move to move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona next summer, in an interview with AS.
Hamann, a German international who played for the Reds between 1999 and 2006, told Stadium Astro that Jurgen Klopp will already have potential replacements in mind:
”For me, the best winger out there at the moment is Kingsley Coman. If Salah were to move, that will have a knock-on effect. Liverpool will have to buy somebody. Whoever they sign, that team will need to buy a replacement. Things happen quickly.”
Hamann also represented the Bavarian club on 143 occasions and praised the French winger’s two-footedness and his improved finishing.
Kopites would unsurprisingly be reluctant to see Salah leave the club, regardless of who was in line to replace the 28-year-old – since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017, the £34.3m signing has torn up numerous record books.
Here’s a pick of the indifferent reactions to the Coman rumours – try and spot the common theme…
