Some Liverpool supporters cannot believe Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago have been omitted from a Manchester City-Liverpool combined XI.
The Reds are preparing the take on Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday, with the Etihad Stadium clash arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season to date.
They have been the top two teams in the country over the past couple of seasons and it would be a big surprise if they weren’t battling for honours next spring.
There are going to be key battles all over the pitch this weekend, with Liverpool and City both containing world-class players throughout their respective squads.
Whoever comes out on top of those personal battles could easily define the eventual result, as could the tactical duel on the touchline between Jurgen Klopp and Guardiola.
When it comes to combined XIs, every supporter has an opinion, many of which will differ from others. One City fan, @kinseymcfc_, has tried his luck on Twitter, with most of the team arguably picking itself.
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold and Thiago are all left out at the expense of Ederson, Kyle Walker and Phil Foden, however, which hasn’t gone down too well with some supporters of a Reds persuasion.

Over the past 44 games Liverpool have won over 20 more points than City…but of course City have the better players 😐

Laporte and Bruyne only ones that would make the team
