The summer of 2026 saw a huge change at Liverpool as Mohamed Salah called time on his decorated Anfield career.
After an underwhelming season under Arne Slot, the Egyptian opted to move on for free, joining Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Liverpool, for their part, opted to replace him by breaking the bank for Bradley Barcola, although he wasn’t viewed as a like-for-like replacement.
And now, the French international has shared what he really thinks about Salah.

When asked about his massive £123m transfer fee, Barcola downplayed claims that it affected it.
“I wasn’t the one who decided the transfer fee, so that’s not been a problem for me,” said Barcola via Sky Sports.
About Salah, the Frenchman described him as a legend, although he once again brushed aside suggestions that he feels the pressure of being Salah’s heir at Anfield.
“Mohamed Salah, he’s a legend here. A huge one. He’s done big things here and for that I have an enormous respect for him. But it’s not pressure for me at all. I’m not Mohamed Salah.
“I’m going to try to contribute whatever I can to the club and make my own mark in the club’s history.”
Barcola comes with an enormous pedigree despite being just 24, so he is a world-class footballer in his own right and will look to carve his own legacy at Anfield.
