Liverpool set for potential swap deal with FC Porto for €60m Brazilian midfielder as Wijnaldum replacement

This summer will see plenty of players join and leave Liverpool ahead of next season.

The club have already signed French defender Ibrahima Konaté for £36million from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

As well as this, Reds fans have seen the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to PSG at the start of the month.

This has led to the possibility of a replacement for the Dutchman, with one possible replacement recently mooted.

According to A Bola, via Rousing the Kop, Liverpool could have an interesting deal on their hands for FC Porto’ Otávio.

The Brazilian has been a fantastic component for the Portuguese club for the last 7 years, but it looks like he could be on his way out.

Porto are in need to raise funds given their lack of finances according to the report, so they can sign new players.

The proposed deal that could take place for the Reds would include Marko Grujic heading the other way.

The Serbian spent last season on loan with the club and enjoyed a great second half of the campaign.

It seems now that the club could be looking to include Grujic as part of a deal for the Brazilian this summer.

Currently, Otávio has a release clause of €60million according to A Bola, which is a huge fee for the Reds to pay.

Including Grujic as part of a deal could easily see that fee cut down to a more realistic figure for the club to afford.

Rousing the Kop also mentions Porto’s interest in Harry Wilson, another player Liverpool are looking to sell.

This certainly puts the Reds in a good position to secure Otávio if Porto are interested in the deal.

Compared to any other clubs that may be targetting the Brazilian, the Reds have a real joker card to play.
