Liverpool make crucial decision on defender after Juventus interest

Liverpool made a handful of changes to their squad during the summer transfer window under Andoni Iraola.

After Arne Slot’s departure, the Reds also had to deal with a handful of notable players leaving, such as Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate and Mohamed Salah.

Four new players joined the club and many more are expected to follow in the upcoming transfer windows.

In terms of notable departures, Giovanni Leoni has been linked with a move to Juventus.

And now, if reports from England are to be believed, the Reds have no intention of parting with the Italian.

Liverpool will not allow Giovanni Leoni to leave

Leoni tore his ACL on his Liverpool debut and hasn’t featured for the club since.

However, he is close to returning to training and is expected to make his first appearance of the season at some point this month.

Amid interest from Juventus, Football Insider confirm that the Reds have no intention of parting with him, be it on loan or permanently.

Granted, Leoni needs to be playing regularly after such a lengthy injury, but Liverpool feel he is better off remaining at Anfield as opposed to a loan move elsewhere.

They clearly have high hopes for Leoni and beat off several teams to secure his signature, so talks of a potential departure shouldn’t even be entertained.
