Liverpool player linked with shock departure after just one appearance

Liverpool are slowly starting to click into gear under Andoni Iraola and are unbeaten across all competitions this season.

They had a handful of injury concerns in pre-season, but in recent weeks, those issues appear to be easing.

Joe Gomez has returned to the squad, while the likes of Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike are making good progress.

Giovanni Leoni is also close to returning to Liverpool training and is expected to feature at some point this month.

And now, a rather outrageous report from Italy claims that Juventus are interested in signing the gifted defender.

Liverpool defender Giovanni Leoni linked with Juventus

Leoni tore his ACL on his Liverpool debut and hasn’t featured for the club since.

He is close to returning and is expected to be an important player at Anfield in the upcoming years.

Gazzetta report that Juventus want to form an Italian core, due to which they are plotting a move for Leoni, among others.

It appears as if their interest is just at an initial stage, but we can’t see a scenario where Liverpool part with Leoni, be it on loan or permanently.

The defender is widely regarded as one of the best talents in world football and the Reds fought off a lot of interest to secure his signature, so they will look to keep him at Anfield for the long haul.
