Liverpool start pre-season preparation kickstarting in Austria confirms James Pearce

It appears as though Liverpool are ready to kickstart their pre-season ahead of the next Premier League campaign.

Last season was a world away from the expectation of the Reds retaining their title.

Despite their poor start and dips in form throughout the campaign, Jurgen Klopp’s men still managed a top-four finish.

However, attentions have now turned, with The Athletic’s James Pearce confirming the start of the Reds’ pre-season.

Monday will see the start of the club’s training camp, with them kicking off proceeding’s in Austria…

As well as this, Pearce also confirms the 34-man squad that will be taking part in the first phase of pre-season.

The list includes plenty of youngsters from the academy, giving Klopp a valuation of the talent at his disposal.

Pre-season is always a great chance to get a further look at the young stars at the club.

It also helps Klopp and his team to decide which young stars and current first-team members may benefit from going out on loan.

One of the names that Liverpool fans will no doubt be excited to see is Ibrahima Konaté.

The Reds signed the Frenchman at the end of June for £36million from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old looks like an incredible player and could certainly form a formidable partnership with Van Dijk.

Hopefully, we will see just how well the pair can gel throughout pre-season this summer.
