Liverpool rule out move for Memphis Depay

Liverpool will not pursue a move for Lyon star Memphis Depay this summer, despite intense speculation linking the Dutchman with a move to Anfield.

The winger has been a key figure for Lyon following his move from Manchester United in January 2017, and helped the Ligue 1 side to a third place finish this season with 10 goals and 10 assists to his name.

Depay has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks and the 25-year-old appeared to hint that he was on his way to Merseyside to complete a deal on his official Instagram last week.

However, according to Sky Sports, Liverpool have ruled out a move for the Netherlands international, who still looks set to leave Lyon this season after captioning his Instagram story video “Merci Lyon.”

Depay looks set to face off against a number of Liverpool’s England international’s next month, in the Nations League semi-final in Portugal.
