Liverpool are expected to make some changes to their squad in the upcoming transfer windows under Andoni Iraola.
The Reds made four new signings in the summer transfer window, but 2027 could be a challenging year for them.
Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker have entered the final year of their respective contracts, while Alexis Mac Allister’s long-term future is also in doubt.
And now, if reports from Spain are to be believed, Real Madrid are preparing a €60m bid to sign the Argentine.
Real Madrid want to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Liverpool
Fichajes report that Jose Mourinho wants Mac Allister as he views him as the ideal candidate to play alongside Aurelien Tchouameni in midfield.
The La Liga giants are aware of the Argentine’s contract situation at Liverpool and are ready to pounce.
The report also mentions that Liverpool could be open to a sale but won’t part with Mac Allister without drafting in a suitable replacement.
Midfield remains an area of concern for Liverpool and they are expected to sign reinforcements regardless of what happens with Mac Allister.
Our opinion: Mac Allister is valued by Iraola and has been in fine form this season, so Liverpool need to let this one play out and decide what to do next summer.
He still has a lot to offer, but if he doesn’t renew his contract, the Reds are better off offloading him in 2027 as opposed to losing him for free a year later.
