Liverpool transfer news as shock Florian Wirtz departure claim emerges

Florian Wirtz has been the talk of the town in recent weeks due to his lukewarm performances for Liverpool.

However, he was the star of the show for Germany vs Serbia as he scored a goal and provided an assist in a 2-0 win.

Wirtz said after the game that he was feeling good, which is good news for the Anfield faithful ahead of their game against Manchester City next week.

Now, however, reports from Germany appear to suggest Liverpool could be open to the possibility of offloading him in the summer of 2027.

Liverpool could sell Florian Wirtz in 2027

German outlet BILD, as relayed by TEAMtalk, claim 2027 could be the time Liverpool reluctantly part ways with the 22-year-old if he doesn’t deliver the goods this season.

However, it has also been mentioned that those claims may have originated as a pile-on after recent comments from Jamie Carragher and Didi Hamann.

The fact of the matter is that Wirtz is too talented a player for Liverpool to give up on him so quickly.

Additionally, Iraola seems to rate him highly and wants to play with a No.10 in his squad, so Wirtz will only get better under his guidance.
